Fire agate, a variety of chalcedony, is a semi-precious natural gemstone discovered in central and northern Mexico and the southwestern United States. The fire agates were formed during this period of volcanism when hot water, repeatedly filled cracks and bubbles in the surrounding rock. This is a great stone for shy or fearful children to carry who may be bullied or harassed, giving them courage to speak up and/or stand up for themselves. It increase blood circulation and metabolic rate; reduce fevers as well as hot flashes, and enhance vision, especially at night.
