Spinel is the magnesium aluminium member of the larger spinel group of minerals. It may be colorless, but is usually various shades of red, blue, green, yellow, brown, black, or violet. found in Sri Lanka, Badakshan Province, Afghanistan, Tajikistan ,and Burma.
